Indonesian Delegation at SelectUSA Investor Summit 2025

This is my first year attending the SelectUSA Investor Summit. After finishing the pitching session at Guoco Midtown, Singapore, we continued our trip to Washington, D.C. It was a long flight, 27 hours, with 7 hours of transit in Abu Dhabi. Yet, it is worth coming. This summit is not only a five-day global event that connects people across countries, but it also provides Biopac, a woman-led company, the privilege to apply for the Select Global Women in Technology program. This prestigious program is a one-year private mentorship to support women in technology scaling up their business and entering the USA market. Finally, we had the opportunity to visit the Indonesian Embassy Office in Washington, D.C.

Different colors, seasons, and seedlings may have different yields of carrageenan.

This article is a summary of Chapter 9, Cultivation and Domestication of Kappaphycus alvarezii Strains at Ubatuba Bay, Sao Paulo State, Southeastern Brazil, from an e-book entitled Tropical Phyconomy Coalition Development: Focus on Eucheumatoid Seaweeds, written by various authors.

The authors reported that different colors and strains of seaweed seedlings may produce different yields of carrageenan. Semi-refined carrageenan yields of EP gametophytes were higher than those of tetrasporophytic strains. All strains showed lower yields in May and higher from August to December. The same goes for refined carrageenan. We should conduct a similar study on the cultivation of Kappaphycus alvarezii in Indonesia.
