This is my first year attending the SelectUSA Investor Summit. After finishing the pitching session at Guoco Midtown, Singapore, we continued our trip to Washington, D.C. It was a long flight, 27 hours, with 7 hours of transit in Abu Dhabi. Yet, it is worth coming. This summit is not only a five-day global event that connects people across countries, but it also provides Biopac, a woman-led company, the privilege to apply for the Select Global Women in Technology program. This prestigious program is a one-year private mentorship to support women in technology scaling up their business and entering the USA market. Finally, we had the opportunity to visit the Indonesian Embassy Office in Washington, D.C.

BRI is a national and accountable bank, strongly committed to supporting and enabling Indonesian SMEs to grow their business locally and globally. In this year, BRI has supported 1000 SMEs to showcase their products and have business matching with overseas buyers. During the 4-day expo, we obtained 25 new customers and contributed to reducing more than 1000 pcs of plastic waste pollution in various formats. But, this is not our ultimate goal. Our goal is to replace all single-use plastic. Plastic is not food, it should be absent in our body.

PT Seaweedtama Biopac Indonesia Supports Atma Jaya Catholic University and UNHCR Indonesia, in Capacity Building and Vocational Training for Refugees.

During the pandemic, having a job is a hope for everyone, including refugees temporarily residing in Indonesia. We support Atma Jaya Catholic University and UNHCR Indonesia, to provide training on capacity building for refugees to apply for job, whether as freelancers, part-time workers, or interns in several industrial sectors.

This training was carried out online on 24 and 29 July 2021, to increase opportunities for them to get a job. The topics of training comprise of leadership, digital marketing, cover letters, resume, and interview preparations. In this training, several refugees who had sent CVs had the opportunity to conduct direct interviews with PT Seaweedtama Biopac Indonesia, represented by Mrs. Noryawati Mulyono. This activity received a very positive response from refugees, and of course brought understanding and opportunities for job seekers closer to the industrial world.

Seawedtama Biopac Indonesia Collaborates with Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), Master of Chemical Engineering Study Program

Biopac collaborated with Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), the Master of Chemical Engineering Program, in a webinar entitled “Chemipreneurship: Start-Up in the Chemical Industry?” on Friday, June 18, 2021, held from the Master of Chemical Engineering Program of Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR).

In the webinar, Dr. Nory explained that armed with chemical engineering will help a person become a successful chemipreneur by having the right innovation and target market.
